Oume Goketsuji, Leader of the Goketsuji clan for the last 60 years, finally was defeated by her younger sister, Otane, the day where she surpassed her older sister finally had arrived.
One night, Oshima Goketsuji unexpectedly appeared in front of Oume and offered her help to take revenge of Otane.
According to the rules of the clan, if the leader dies or quit, one new tournament should be held immediately to find a successor.
That same night Oshima and Oume sent their servants to dispose of Otane, so while Otane slept, she was kidnapped and thrown to the ocean.
Next day Kuroko found a letter supposedly written by Otane, where she declined to her right to be the leader of the clan.
One week later all the competitors from the previous tournament and other family members were convoke to be informed about Otane's decision and the beginning of a new tournament.

Kanji Kokuin
Grandson of one of the eight children from the first Goketsuji generation, Kanji has been a devoted practitioner of martial arts since he was a child. Becoming the strongest man in Japan was his goal and spent almost all of his time perfecting every technique, later he gained fame as a very powerful warrior.
In one of his journeys, Kanji met a man named Gennai Hattori who was also very strong and was defeated by him. Afterwards, Kanji started to get interested in the art of ninjutsu and asked Gennai to teach him. Gennai accepted Kanji as training partner.
During his training Kanji met Gennai's younger sister, Sakurako Hattori and after a some time they became lovers. Unfortunately, stories about his adventures and strength where heard by Goketsuji Oshima, an ambitious woman that is convinced that only strong people have the right to belong to the Goketsuji family. Oshima tracked him down and forced him to break up with his girlfriend in order to get married with her young daughter, Oume.
When Kanji met Oume, he thought that maybe everything will be fine... after all, Oume was a beautiful girl. But soon he discovered that she not only had incredible strength but also an evil personality and was constantly humiliated by her. Kanji couldn't stand this situation and soon got himself divorced from Oume a few weeks after their wedding.

Kinta Kokuin
Grand grandson of Kokuin Kanji's youngest brother, Haruki, Kintaro is a hyperactive and aggressive kid who always gets in troubles. Kintaro's father, unable to discipline him, decided to register him in the Warugaki Kindergarden, a institution that specializes in problematic kids.

Kurara was a normal girl, until one day she met a wizard that lives in her city. She then began to visit the wizard everyday to talk and help him with his home duties. The wizard, grateful for Kurara's help and company, gave her a golden wand that allows it's owner to use special magic.
Kurara's dream is to become a beautiful bride, but first she has to find her ideal man. She participates in the Gouketsuji tournament to earn the money to travel around the world to find the prince of her dreams.

Oshima Goketsuji
Oshima was the 3rd Goketsuji leader and initiator of the tradition of the fighting tournaments in the family. Her thought is that the Goketsuji family must be integrated just for those who are strong.
Unfortunately for her, she was defeated by her young daughter Oume in the 4th Goketsuji Tournament. Feeling Humiliated for her defeat, Oshima disappeared and for many years was unknown if she was alive, but after 60 years of her last participation in the tournament, she is back with a plan to regain her place as leader of the clan. She was beautiful in her youth and has the strange ability of prediction.

Sahad
As a member of a very important family, Sahad Asran Ryuto has been instructed in many artistic and sportive disciplines, but one difference between Ryuto and other high-class boys is that his mother hails from a lineage of magicians and for that reason he was also trained in the use of magic since he was a little boy.
