Gundam: The Battle Master and Battle Master 2 take place in a post-apocalyptic world not tied to any existing Gundam series and star completely original characters. When Battle Master 2 was brought to America as Battle Assault, all the original characters were replaced with the "canon" pilots from their respective series.

In Battle Master 2, the main characters of Story Mode are Gloria and her companion Pixie (pictured). Heero Yuy takes over as main character in Battle Assault, since Gundam Wing was popular on American TV at the time. The mecha Hamma-Hamma was replaced by Wing Gundam, as well.
